No, we did not conduct an on-site evaluation prior. The pool fence was installed on July 19, 2019.
What Was the Scope of Work?
When it comes to pool fence installations in Massachusetts Life Saver pool fences generally do not meet the state’s code requirements for the primary fence. For individual towns, the code is specific to that town. This customer, however, wanted to have one of our fences installed as the primary code fence.
To handle this, we first emailed the customer our Inspector Package which he took to the building inspector in Swansea, MA. The inspector then gave approval for the Life Saver pool fence to be used as the primary code fence in their home subsequentially saving the customers lots of money.
Since it’s not possible for our team to go to every town in Massachusetts to see if our fence will meet the town’s pool fence code, the solution is we email the Inspector Packet to the customer. This makes it more likely for the fence being approved since the customer is directly bringing the packet in for approval.
What Type of Fence Was Installed?
For this installation, we installed a 4’ tall all-black pool fence, both the mesh and poles were black. We also installed a self-closing, self-latching gate and a latch that was 56” inch that can be locked with a key.
Were There Any Challenges To This Job?
The install was not challenging, however ensuring the fence would meet safety and code requirements could have presented a challenge for us and the homeowner. Fortunately, we were able to work with them to provide a positive outcome.
